Hawks Name Assistant Coaches for 2024-2025 Season

The Pembina Valley U18 Hawks have announced their assistant coaches for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Jeff Andrews was named as head coach last month and will now be joined by Jory Mullin and Mark Thiessen.

Jory joins the Hawks coaching staff sporting an impressive playing resume. He played with the PV Hawks for two years, including the league championship team in 2010. From there, he played three years of junior hockey with the Winkler Flyers, being named a second team all-start in 2013-2014. After junior hockey, Jory played four years of NCAA hockey with Neumann University (ECAC All-Academic in 2015 and NCAA All-American in 2017) followed by a stint playing professional hockey with the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

This will be Jory’s second year with the Hawks, both in the assistant coach role. He is looking forward to helping develop players to achieve their goals while gaining additional insight on the game from behind the bench.

Off ice, Jory works in the ag finance industry and resides in Morden. His hobbies outside of hockey include golf and various other sports.

The Pembina Valley U18 Hawks are super excited to announce that Mark Thiessen has been added to the coaching staff. Mark played his junior hockey with the Winkler Flyers then moved out to Alberta to play his college hockey.  Marks career finished up overseas playing in Germany before settling back into Morden.

Mark has been involved in coaching for a long time and has served as the Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Winkler Flyers, Head Coach of the Morden Bombers of the SEMHL and coached at all levels of minor hockey.  Mark’s coaching experience will be an asset to our group, especially his knowledge of the defensive side of the game.  We are very excited to have him joining our staff.

Welcome back Jory and welcome to the Hawks Mark!
